Château médiéval de Pouancé
The medieval castle of Pouancé is a municipal castle at Pouancé, in the Maine-et-Loire, in the Segréen, on the western border of the old province of Anjou, facing Brittany. With the town walls, part of which can still be seen, it covers an area of three hectares, making it one of the largest fortresses in the region.
It is sometimes called the second castle of Anjou in importance, after that of Angers. Its towers and ramparts, moats and pond, surrounded by greenery, make a picturesque site. A visit can be combined with the town of Pouancé, its lake and its lanes.
