Château du Plessis-Macé
The Château du Plessis-Macé is a medieval building, altered at the very start of the Renaissance, in the former commune of Le Plessis-Macé, now part of Longuenée-en-Anjou, in the Maine-et-Loire. The fortress, built of black schist in the 13th century, was turned in the 15th century into a splendid pleasure residence in the Flamboyant Gothic style.
The tufa balcony and the chapel, which contains a rare Gothic gallery, are its finest features. The visit takes in the courtyards, the residence and the chapel of this château a few kilometres from Angers, in the heart of Anjou.
