Château du Pflixbourg
Overlooking the entrance to the Munster valley from an altitude of 454 metres, the castle of Pflixbourg, in the Haut-Rhin, was most probably built in the early 13th century.
The entrance consists of a recessed gate defended by inward-turning curtain walls. The round keep stands in the middle of the inner courtyard and has a high pointed-arch door on the side facing the entrance. Paired windows with niches and side benches are well preserved in the ruined residence on the west side of the castle.
