Château de Sceaux
The Musée de l'Île-de-France, founded in 1937 at the heart of the Domaine de Sceaux, displays its collections in several prestigious buildings: the château, the orangery, the Pavillon de l'Aurore, the Petit Château and the stables. Visiting all the buildings, combined with a walk along the garden's fine vistas designed by Le Nôtre, offers a fascinating journey through history from the time of Colbert to the present day.
The Parc de Sceaux, which forms the whole estate, belongs to the Hauts-de-Seine département and extends over the communes of Sceaux and Antony. It was designed by André Le Nôtre at the end of the 17th century for Colbert and then his son, the Marquis de Seignelay.
