Château de Saint-Elix-le-Château

Halfway between Toulouse and Saint-Gaudens, in the Haute-Garonne, stands the majestic Château de Saint-Élix, surprising in its style. Built under Francis I by Laurens Clary for Pierre de Potier, it was embellished over the centuries by renowned artists.

Once the estate of the Marquis de Montespan and of Charles Ledesme, the last baron of Saint-Élix, its history is full of great deeds and surprising anecdotes. It is one of the finest châteaux in the département. Damaged in the early 20th century by bad weather and fire, it was rebuilt in the 1980s with great care for faithfulness to the original.
