Château de Rochebonne

Rhône, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The château de Rochebonne is an old fortified house, rebuilt in the fifteenth century and remodelled in the seventeenth, standing in the commune of Theizé, in the Rhône. The main building is flanked by two large round towers, with triangular pediments and terraces with stone balustrades.

You can see a fine four-newel stone staircase, of the seventeenth century, and the great drawing room, of the eighteenth century. The armoury is adorned with a trompe-l'œil painted decoration. A room of the château can be hired for receptions. The château is discovered as part of a walk in the Pierres Dorées country.
