Château de Randan

Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Set on a hilltop with a wide view, the Domaine de Randan, in the Puy-de-Dôme, was laid out from 1821 for the future King Louis-Philippe and his sister Madame Adélaïde. It remained a holiday home of the Orléans family until 1958.

In the heart of a huge landscaped park, the guided tour covers the remains of the château, the furnished neoclassical chapel, the vast kitchens and the orangery. It continues with the hunting museum assembled by the last Duke of Montpensier in the early 20th century.

Finally, the park invites a stroll among viewpoints, ornamental pools and remarkable trees.
