Château de Montigny-le-Gannelon
The Château de Montigny-le-Gannelon overlooks the Loir valley, in the Eure-et-Loir, on the edge of the Perche and the Dunois. The present Renaissance residence dates from around 1495 and stands on a much older fortified site. It remains private property, lived in by the family.
The visit takes in several furnished rooms, including the Salon des Dames, the Grand Salon, the billiard room and the Kings' dining room. The château is surrounded by a park of about fifteen hectares, with gardens and views of the village and the valley.
The estate also hosts receptions and events. It lies near Cloyes-les-Trois-Rivières and Châteaudun, on the Loir valley route. Opening periods are seasonal and should be confirmed with the estate before going.
