Château de Lorge
The Château de Lorge, or Lorges, hides in the forest of L'Hermitage-Lorge, less than a kilometre from the village of L'Hermitage-Lorge, now part of Plœuc-L'Hermitage, in the Côtes-d'Armor. It replaced the manor of L'Hermitage, owned by the lords of Quintin from at least the 15th century.
Work on this 18th-century château began in 1721 under Guy-Nicolas de Durfort. The estate later passed to the Choiseul-Praslin family, who mined local iron ore to supply the Pas forges. Built beside a lake, it is one of the most imposing buildings in the département. It is private property, registered as a historic monument since 1963, with no regular visits recorded.
