Château de Bienassis

Côtes-d'Armor, Bretagne

The Château de Bienassis stands in Erquy, about five kilometres from the resort, on the road between Pléneuf-Val-André and Erquy, in the Côtes-d'Armor. A listed historic monument, it dates from the 15th and 17th centuries and forms a complete seigneurial residence.

The estate includes moats, a crenellated wall, a main courtyard, a chapel, stables, a French formal garden and a kitchen garden. Inside, the tour of the furnished ground floor takes in the great salon, the guardroom, the kitchen and the dining room, which reflect a house that is still lived in.

The château takes part in the European Heritage Days and the Rendez-vous aux jardins. It can also be reached by bike or on foot from the beach at Sables-d'Or.
