The Château de la Guyomarais, in the Côtes-d'Armor, dates from the 16th century. During the Revolution it was the refuge of the Chouan leader Armand Tuffin de la Rouërie, who died here of illness on 30 January 1793.
He is buried not far from the château, where a memorial stone was erected by the United States Embassy in recognition of his part in the American War of Independence.
