Château de la Motte-Jean

Ille-et-Vilaine, Bretagne

The Château de la Motte-Jean is at Saint-Coulomb, near Saint-Malo, in the Ille-et-Vilaine. It was built below a terrace two metres high to the west, on the site of a fortress of Du Guesclin, which housed the troops charged with watching the coast from the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel to Fort La Latte.

The two pools, one of them partly filled in, date from that time. The château has been protected as a historic monument since 1980. The sources consulted cannot confirm current visiting arrangements; the château's official website is the best place to check.
