Château de la Batisse

Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Château de la Batisse stands in Chanonat, south of Clermont-Ferrand, in the Puy-de-Dôme. Built between the 15th and 18th centuries, it has a fine suite of furnished apartments.

It is surrounded by French formal gardens in the spirit of the Le Nôtre school, labelled Jardin remarquable since 2006. They cover about nineteen hectares and include pools, cascades and fountains, masonry and plant grottoes, a box maze and a double-revolution staircase. A river, orchards and art installations complete the park.

The estate offers lively tours for groups and individuals, as well as a summer programme of events announced from 20 June to 30 August 2026. Outside summer, some visits are by appointment.
