Château de Kintzheim
The 12th-century castle of Kintzheim stands at the place called Schlossberg, in the commune of Kintzheim, in the Bas-Rhin. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1965. A sentinel below the Haut-Kœnigsbourg, it dominates the village with its silhouette, above which birds of prey sometimes glide in summer, as the ruin has become their home.
Bird of prey flying displays, known as the Volerie des Aigles, are held in the castle in summer. The ruin also offers a wide view over the Alsace plain. It is reached on foot by a path from the village, or by visiting the Volerie.
