Château de Galinières
More than a château, Galinières, in the Aveyron, is in fact a former 12th-century monastic grange belonging to the Cistercian abbey of Bonneval. The square buttressed keep was built during the Hundred Years' War, as were a large machicolated tower and other round towers.
Its superimposed rooms, now being restored, can be admired today. The main building dates from the 15th century, when the whole was turned into an abbatial residence.
