Château de Fallavier
The castle of Fallavier, in the Isère, stands on the Relong hill (344 m), in a commanding position. A ditch, now gone, and a first curtain wall, fairly well preserved, enclose an area of a hectare and a half. A second curtain wall surrounds the castle buildings, set against the north wall of the first.
The round keep, originally 32 metres high (only 25 today), stands in the east corner of the second enclosure, separated from the castle by a wall. A narrow staircase cut into its wall leads to the top, where the view is panoramic, with a viewpoint indicator. Around it, the ruined buildings are still impressive, especially the chapel windows on the north side.
