Château de Domeyrat
Built in the 13th century by the Papabeuf family, the castle of Domeyrat, in the Haute-Loire, overlooks the village and the confluence of the Senouire and the Doulon. It was used as a quarry during the Revolution.
In the 16th century the La Rochefoucauld family had scenes painted here, recently discovered and being restored. The castle was lived in until 1789. Visitors can see a curtain wall flanked by four towers, the dome decorated with 16th-century frescoes and wall paintings in the north-west and south-west towers. The bridge dates from the 15th and 16th centuries.
