Basilique Saint-Julien
Dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, the Basilica of Saint-Julien in Brioude, in the Haute-Loire, is the largest Romanesque building in the Auvergne. It is built in the Auvergne Romanesque style and is listed as a historic monument.
Its capitals, pebble paving and 12th- and 13th-century frescoes and wall paintings give it a special charm. It also contains statues of Christ and the Virgin, a 17th-century altarpiece by Vaneau, a chapel and remarkable capitals.
