Château de Chevreaux
The castle of Chevreaux, in the Jura, was probably built around 1100-1150, as feudalism and castle lordships emerged in the Revermont. Its existence is confirmed by a text written by the monks of the Abbey of Le Miroir around 1160.
An independent seigneury from 1190, it passed from the Coligny family to the lords of Montluel in 1270, then to the de Vienne family. It was made a barony around the beginning of the 16th century.
