Château de Busset

Allier, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Overlooking the Allier valley, the Château de Busset combines a medieval fortress and a Renaissance residence, with Italian influence softening the original lines of a building begun at the end of the 13th century.

The curtain wall, the moats, the massive keep and the very elegant and equally imposing Orion tower bear witness to its former power.

Today its gardens, outdoor swimming pool and grand salons welcome guests to stay in what was the family home of the Bourbon-Busset family, who gave their name to the province of the Bourbonnais.
