Centre historique minier de Lewarde

Nord, Hauts-de-France

In the heart of the Mining Basin, the Lewarde Mining History Centre plunges you into the mining culture of Nord-Pas-de-Calais. A museum but also a documentary resource centre, it is set on the former Delloye pit, whose working stopped in 1971. The museum is the most important mining museum in France. Children particularly enjoy the journey into the heart of the mine through the guided tour of the galleries or the encounters with a former miner giving testimony.
