Cascade de Boréon
The Boréon waterfall gushes in the heart of the hamlet of the same name, the gateway to the Mercantour National Park above Saint-Martin-Vésubie, in the Alpes-Maritimes. Fed by meltwater from the surrounding peaks, it pours forcefully down a granite wall visible directly from the village, making it one of the most accessible waterfalls in the upper Vésubie valley.
The hamlet of Le Boréon is also the starting point for the lake of the same name and many hiking routes towards the Trécolpas and La Fous lakes, in an area rich in alpine wildlife.
