Bateaux du lac du Bourget et du Haut-Rhône
The Compagnie des Bateaux du lac du Bourget is based at Aix-les-Bains, on the eastern shore of the largest natural lake entirely in France. It offers cruises on the lake, on the Savières canal and on the Haut-Rhône.
Its fleet has three restaurant boats and four pleasure boats. Two of them, the Hydra Aix and the AixSpace, run on fully electric motors. Outings last from about an hour to a full day, with or without a meal: a two-hour "Wild Lake" cruise, a three-hour "Lake and Canal" cruise, or a half-day with possible stops.
Depending on the formula, you follow the lake's wild coast, reach the abbey of Hautecombe, or continue along the Savières canal to stops like Chanaz and Lavours. The Haut-Rhône extends the itinerary. Boats can also be privatised for groups.
