Aquarium de Vannes
The Vannes Aquarium, also called the Oceanographic and Tropical Aquarium, is on the edge of the Gulf of Morbihan. It offers a journey through three marine worlds: cold seas, including the Gulf of Morbihan itself, warm seas and tropical fresh waters.
The visitor discovers fish from all over the world, from the bottom of the gulf to the Pacific coral reefs, via the Amazon basin and the great African lakes. The seahorses of the Gulf of Morbihan, a threatened species, are highlighted there.
The visit suits families and school groups who wish to understand the diversity of aquatic environments and the fragility of local marine fauna.
Located in Vannes, the aquarium is a practical stop to complete a day's visit of the Morbihan, particularly when the weather is not favourable to sea outings.
