Agrivap Train Touristique

Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Agrivap is an association that has run tourist trains in the Livradois-Forez, in Auvergne, for about forty years. The current service uses the line from Ambert to La Chaise-Dieu, about forty kilometres, aboard commented historic railcars. The journey crosses mid-mountain landscapes and villages and reveals the railway heritage and the places along the way.

On arrival, passengers can visit La Chaise-Dieu, famous for its abbey church and village. Bicycles can be carried on board.

The old line, which once linked Courpière to Darsac via Ambert, operated throughout the 20th century until 1980; the service from Courpière is no longer offered. The activity is seasonal, with trains from spring to autumn, and booking is recommended.
