Zoo d' Amnéville

Moselle, Grand Est

The Amnéville Zoo is a zoological park at Amnéville, in the Moselle. Created in 1986, it became known for its collection of felines and for one of the largest sea lion pools in Europe. It now hosts about two thousand animals of several hundred species, from the five continents.

You meet notably Sumatran and Siberian tigers, lions, jaguars, black panthers, Persian leopards, snow leopards, pumas, cheetahs, wolves, African wild dogs, hyenas and bears.

After a period of financial difficulty, the zoo was taken over by an investment fund. The Tiger World tiger show was stopped, and the establishment redefined its project in 2021 around species conservation and education. It gives itself three missions: informing visitors about ecosystems, preserving species, and carrying out research, with a laboratory and a veterinary team. It financially supports several conservation programmes around the world.
