Écomusée des mines de fer de Lorraine
At Neufchef, in the Moselle, a one-kilometre route through real mine galleries shows the work of iron miners from the beginnings to the present day. Three exhibition rooms, an audiovisual room and an open-air museum recall the history of iron mining in Lorraine.
This history comes alive when told by former miners, who guide the tours in the galleries. The museum also has a collection of 250 iron and coal miners' lamps.
