Musee du pays de Sarrebourg

Moselle, Grand Est

The Musée du Pays de Sarrebourg, in the Moselle, occupies a contemporary building by the architect Bernard Desmoulin. It presents the archaeological collections of the Sarrebourg area: prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology, Gallo-Roman hilltop hamlets, monuments of Sarrebourg and Tarquimpol, Roman villas and medieval archaeology.

There are also faience and porcelain from Niderviller and Marc Chagall's tapestry 'Peace'. A room and a drawings gallery regularly show works by Chagall lent by the national museums, as well as a Bible illustrated by the artist.
