Tourbière du Marais de Parigné
The Lande Marais peat bog is a 26-hectare Sensitive Natural Area owned by the Ille-et-Vilaine département. It lies 10 km from Fougères, in the commune of Parigné.
It is a wetland colonised by sphagnum mosses, whose growth leads to an accumulation of poorly decomposed organic matter, peat. It is one of the three raised bogs in Brittany and is fed by rainwater. The bog has remarkable wildlife and plants, including the viviparous lizard, the wasp spider, cotton grass, sundew and cranberry.
