Thuya géant de Vitré

Ille-et-Vilaine, Bretagne

In the Vitré park, in Ille-et-Vilaine, stands a California arborvitae (thuja) remarkable for its exceptional dimensions. The tree reaches about 22 metres in height and its low branches, which touch the ground, cover an area of about 1,800 m², forming a kind of plant cave that visitors can walk through. This size makes it one of the most remarkable specimens of the region, regularly listed among the notable trees of Brittany.
