Tignes
Tignes is a French commune in Haute-Tarentaise, in the Savoie département and the Rhône-Alpes region, originally a little mountain village destroyed and engulfed following the construction of the Chevril dam, inaugurated in 1952. On its heights, Tignes became over the following decades a ski resort set at more than 2,000 m altitude on two main sites (Tignes le Lac and Tignes Val Claret) and internationally renowned for its ski area linked with that of Val-d'Isère under the name Espace Killy.
