Source de l'Hermitière

Tucked away in the eastern part of the Bercé forest, in the Sarthe, the Hermitière spring invites a quiet pause along woodland paths, not far from the village of Jupilles. From the 19th century, this fountain was a festive meeting place where people came to picnic and dance at popular balls on summer Sundays. Nearby, the Coudre fountain offers another watering place for a break, in one of the forests most renowned in France for its centuries-old oaks.
