Domaine de Pescheray
The Domaine zoologique de Pescheray is a wildlife park at Le Breil-sur-Mérize, in the south-east of the Sarthe, in the Pays de la Loire. It covers about ninety hectares of forest around the Château de Pescheray, a 15th-century building.
The park presents several hundred animals, especially French and European wildlife: bears, wolves, lynx, bison, as well as wallabies and other species, many living in large wooded enclosures. The walking route lets visitors watch the animals in a natural setting and explore the estate.
On site there is a bar, a restaurant, a shop, a playground and picnic areas. The park makes a good family day out, to combine with the heritage of the southern Sarthe.
