Serre Chevalier

Hautes-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

Serre Chevalier Vallée is in the Hautes-Alpes département, in the PACA region. The Hautes-Alpes is the only département of the Alpine chain none of whose territory lies outside the mountains. It is also the highest département in the Alps. It is also the first non-linked ski area in France. Gateway to the Écrins National Park, Serre Chevalier Vallée is the grouping of a town inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage for its Vauban fortifications, Briançon, and 3 villages: Saint-Chaffrey/Chantemerle, Villeneuve/La Salle-les-Alpes and Le Monêtier-les-Bains.

A hint of Italy and the Mediterranean blows over Serre Chevalier Vallée and quality snow cover contribute to making this destination a success. All these characteristics give it a spirit and an originality, a mixture of modernity and authenticity, of warmth and cold, of nature and preserved space of a mountain where it is good to live...
