Orcières 1850
Orcières-Merlette 1850 is a resort in the Hautes-Alpes at about 1,850 metres, overlooking the Champsaur valley on the edge of the Écrins National Park. The ski area was created in 1962 and has been run since 2003 by the Labellemontagne group.
In winter the resort offers about fifty runs of all levels, a snowpark and varied lifts, in an area known for good snow and sunshine. It holds the 'Famille Plus' label for welcoming families.
In summer it becomes a mountain leisure site: a bike park with several marked downhill runs, many mountain-bike routes, hiking in the Écrins and a zip line from the summit of the Drouvet, presented as one of the longest in Europe. Around the resort, the Champsaur offers characterful villages and high-mountain landscapes.
