Safari de Peaugres

Ardèche, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Safari de Peaugres is an animal park in the Ardèche, opened in 1974 and extending over 80 hectares. It is one of the largest animal parks in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The site is divided into two spaces of roughly equal size, one to be driven through by car, the other to be walked. Depending on the sources, it houses more than a thousand animals from the five continents, spread over more than one hundred and twenty species, including big cats, primates, birds and reptiles. The park takes part in European breeding programmes for threatened species and devotes a section of its website to conservation.

The park has play areas for children and offers several special visit packages, such as a 4x4 safari or a night on site. It also welcomes school groups and leisure centres. It organises temporary exhibitions, for example on dinosaurs in 2026, and a light trail in winter.
