Pierre percée
The village of Pierre-Perthuis, in the Yonne, takes its name from its pierced stone, a natural rock arch. It is a very fine site: the gorges of the Cure are crossed by two bridges, a 17th-century humpback bridge known as the Pont Vauban and a 33-metre-high viaduct built at the end of the 19th century. Further upstream a very old bridge, the 'Roman bridge', also survives.
There are remains of a 12th-century castle. The GR13 follows the river banks between rock and forest, a very pleasant walk.
