Palais Lascaris

Alpes-Maritimes, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

A witness to Genoese Baroque architecture, this noble palace was built in the mid-seventeenth century for the Counts Lascaris-Vintimille. Listed as a Historic Monument, it has been restored since 1963 and turned into a museum.

The Baroque, Genoese-style palace keeps a monumental staircase decorated with frescoes and luxuriously decorated salons. Flemish tapestries, seventeenth- and eighteenth-century furniture and faience collections of the same period are currently on show. It also houses a fine collection of old musical instruments tracing much of the history of music.
