Palais Bénédictine
The Palais Bénédictine is a building mixing neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance styles, built in the late nineteenth century at Fécamp for Alexandre-Prosper Le Grand, a spirits merchant who made his fortune inventing and marketing the Bénédictine liqueur. The building was built to plans by the architect Camille Albert (1852–1942), by the builder Ernest Baron with local materials and techniques. It contains a museum presenting various collections (worked ivories, coins, locks, old religious paintings…), but also the distillery itself, as well as its cellars. An exhibition space devoted to contemporary art was created in 1988.
