Historial Jeanne d'Arc
The Historial Jeanne d'Arc is in Rouen, at the foot of the cathedral, in the former archiepiscopal palace known as the Archevêché. The building keeps the remains of the so-called Officialité hall, where Joan of Arc was condemned in 1431 and where her rehabilitation trial was held in 1456.
The visit takes the form of an immersive digital route that starts in the Gothic crypt and goes up to the Grand Comble. The visitor follows a real investigation, that of Jean Juvénal des Ursins, Archbishop of Reims, master builder of the second trial, who seeks to understand the young woman's fate.
The route ends with the Mythothèque, a set of three rooms showing how the myth of Joan of Arc has been built since the fifteenth century. The Historial celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2025. It suits history lovers, families and school groups.
