Musée des Augustins

Haute-Garonne, Occitanie

The Musée des Augustins is the fine arts museum of Toulouse, in the Haute-Garonne. Created by decision of 23 December 1793 and opened in 1795, it is housed in the former Augustinian convent and holds major collections of painting and sculpture.

The building's medieval parts have been listed as historic monuments since 1840, and the Darcy staircase registered since 1990. The museum garden was created for an exhibition devoted to it in October 1995 under the title 'The gardens of a convent', in partnership between the museum's curators and the city's parks department.
