Musée départemental d'art contemporain de Rochechouart
Standing on a rocky promontory, the château of Rochechouart, in the Haute-Vienne, is a fortress of the 13th and 15th centuries altered in the 17th and 18th. Its Renaissance inner courtyard has an arcaded gallery with twisted columns.
Inside, two rooms hold 16th-century frescoes: the first depicts hunting scenes, the second, monumental, the labours of Hercules. The château now houses the collection of the departmental museum of contemporary art of Rochechouart, exhibitions and the sub-prefecture.
