Musée de la Résistance de Bondues

Nord, Hauts-de-France

The Bondues Resistance museum, in the Nord, is organised in five areas: the Place of Remembrance, which keeps alive the memory of the 68 men shot here and shows their photograph where available, with their age and occupation; Refusal, which presents the beginnings of regional resistance during the two world wars; Courage, which shows the means used by the Resistance; Commitment, which traces the paths of resistance fighters and their networks; and Sacrifice, which presents the repression carried out by the German and French police.

The museum holds a large collection of documents and archives on the Resistance in the First and Second World Wars and on the Deportation, open by appointment to anyone wishing to do research. It also has a screening room.
