Marinarium

Finistère, Bretagne

The Marinarium is the discovery space open to the public of the Concarneau Marine Station, attached to the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle. Set on the harbour, facing the walled town, it offers an introduction to marine life and the coastal environment.

The route deals with the world of plankton, the richness of the foreshore, and the protection and management of marine resources. It relies on aquariums presenting local fauna and flora, on videos and on educational activities, in the dedicated space or on the shore at low tide.

The whole is designed for families, curious children and school groups, with an accessible scientific message. The visit circuit is fully accessible to wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility. Photography is allowed without flash or tripod.

As the Marinarium had a temporary closure at the start of the 2026 season, it is advisable to check opening periods on the station's website before going.
