Logis du Maine-Giraud
Alfred de Vigny stayed at Le Maine-Giraud rather than living there. The "logis" belonged to his maternal grandfather, the Marquis de Baraudin. His aunt had become its owner when he discovered it in summer 1823, during a stop he allowed himself before joining his garrison in Bordeaux. His aunt's death brought him back to Le Maine-Giraud in November 1827. A small museum has been set up in the dining room of the house (open every day, and you can also climb the "ivory tower").
