Le Château du Buisson de May
At the request of Jean Jacques de Bordeaux, the royal architect Jacques Denis Antoine drew the plans and elevations of the Château du Buisson de May, in the Eure, in 1781, as well as the layout of the two hemicycles and the vistas. Antoine's very personal Neoclassical style gives this Louis XVI château a Louis XIV air.
The four very different façades surprise visitors, and the park surrounds the building like a setting. The whole has been listed as a historic monument since 1994. After a period of neglect and looting, the château has been under restoration since 1999, and the visit helps to understand building techniques.
