Lac vert

Haut-Rhin, Grand Est

About 5 km from the Col de la Schlucht, a forest path leads to Lac Vert, also called Lac de Soultzeren, nestled at 1,044 m altitude on the Alsace side of the Vosges. Its very particular emerald tint, more visible between late June and late July, is due to algae and lichens suspended in its waters. The site is easily reached by car by the road from Munster to the Col de la Schlucht, then by a forest track.
