Jardin japonais de Toulouse
Labelled 'Jardin Remarquable', the Japanese garden of Compans-Caffarelli, in Toulouse, in the Haute-Garonne, nestles in a city park near the old rampart. It was created by Pierre Baudis to replace military barracks abandoned by the army.
Made up of artificial hills, it aims to be a synthesis of gardens in Japan, especially in Kyoto. Stone, plants and water are enriched with classic elements: bridges, lanterns, pavilions and enclosing walls.
