Île de Porquerolles
The island of Porquerolles is the largest and westernmost of the three Golden Isles of the Gulf of Hyères, with an area of 12.54 km². It forms an east-west arc with jagged edges, 7.5 km long and 3 km wide, and is the most inhabited and most visited island. The island peaks at the semaphore at 142 m. Classified as the "Heart of a National Park" since 2012, Porquerolles protects, cultivates, replants and studies Mediterranean crops thanks to its Botanical Conservatory and the Port-Cros National Park. With its three beaches of fine sand, a sea of exceptional purity and cliffs that fall sheer into the sea, the island of Porquerolles is a natural site not to be missed if you are staying in the Var.
