Grotte de Walscheid
The Saint-Léon cave at Walscheid, in the Moselle, is 32 metres deep, 24 metres wide and 8 metres high. Formed by erosion, it is the deepest natural cavity in the Vosges. A majestic oak several centuries old seems to watch over its entrance.
From here walkers enjoy a splendid view over Walscheid and its surroundings. The Saint-Léon cave is also the setting for a remarkable living nativity scene, organised by the Walscheid tourist office on the third Sunday of Advent.
